Nice review.
Wondering why there are such large CPU utilization differences between the SB95P and the SB86i. They both use the same codec and the BIOS, drivers were probably written by the same person. Any Ideas? |

Those rear fan grills are ugly.
As is the PSU grill... why go cheap on that part? Seems like Shuttle's case construction quality has taken a dive recently with their newer designs. |

The fact that double-wide cards are physically possible and the power supply is beefy makes this version a huge step in the right direction. The "tool free" setup is also enticing. There's a lot to like here. If it were a little less engineered for the P4's heat issues (Pentium M? Athlon 64!) it would be an excellent system.
I still hunger for more than 4 default USB ports, though. I'd be happer with 6 or 8 and no firewire. |

I'm thinking just airflow impediment. Having worked with the P-series, it's not that big of a deal. Good target for a dremel for us modders, though. =)
Still waiting for an AMD-based P-series... (edit: this was in reply to indeego's post... maybe my firefox is wonky...) |

Quick question about the front panel.
The headphone/mic ports, are they hardwired to the onboard sound? Or can it be hooked up to a potential third-party audio card, like an Audigy for example? |

Just once I'd like to read a review of a Shuttle SFF that doesn't use the word "cube."
(Or I'd like to read a review of an actual Shuttle Cube.) |

Meh, another shoebox computer.
I guess things are a little slow on the innovation front. Good review as always, but I'm getting a bit bored with the whole concept. |

Having the recent discussion about the SB86i case in mind, separating the case into cooling zones and cooling the CPU separately looks like a much more efficient method than the BTX "one big fan for them all" approach.

I like the cooling zones idea, and I like it even more that it runs quietly. Will the AMD box based on this have a similar cooling config?
