If my desktop burst into flames right now, this is what I'd buy. It would be my first Intel since 1999.

I want a presler version :/
533fsb - this thing would have one high multiplier - would ease up overclocking somewhat. btw - anyone know what the difference is between a 945p and 945pl? If i have to purchase an expensive mobo to get the most out of it, that's going to suck. |

Worst thing about these is that they are 90nm. Maybe they will do something like this again with the left over 65nm pentium D's mid year when they transition to conroe? Doubtful though, since their roadmaps show they intend to ship about 10 times more PD's than conroes this year, even through the end of it.

It basicly says, dualcore P4 for the standard corporate desktop and homeusers that dont do much.
Very sweet price, and it will get cheaper/better in April. |

Oh I didn't just spot them, I saw it on slickdeals from member Crazy horse, who I'd bet spotted them from another deal website.

I'm still waiting for the X2 to drop in price before I upgrade my 3200 (2000@2150).
