I have to find that site I was on last year when the Intel Mac was announced and I predicted booting Windows wouldn't be as easy as everybody there seemed to think it was, and they all tried to rip me a new one.....

Not to bash on Vista, but it just keeps looking less and less exciting. Does it have any of its original big features besides a hardware-accelerated UI?
I mean, EFI support is gone. The fantastic new filesystem is gone. What's left?

I'm not really down about it. One of the biggest features of a Mac IS OSX. If you own a Mac, I can assure you it wasn't to one day boot a copy of Windows.

This is odd, since the Vista Betas have EFI support.
Don't they?

I have to agree with Decelerate. This is a step backward regardless of your platform.

Now I know that PC boards don't currently support EFI (at least the ones I'd like to build a system with...). But next to the Hard Disk Drive, the one system component most in need of upgrade is the BIOS! The situation reminds me of a story where a guy has to put up with having a dead bird hung around his neck At the very least it "stinks"! :-P (Forgive me for making butchered literary references... I was never properly socialized.)

See I was begining to hope that I could purchase one of Intel's new chips, with an EFI / BTX motherboard and use Vista... Maybe I should be sharing this with Intel. They should be the one's to "encourage" Microsoft to get with the program. I'll catch up with y'all later....

Never fear, there is a great chance of even Windows XP booting before March 30 when the contest deadline expires.
