CSS, Content Scrambling System, the encryption mechanism in question, is licensed by the DVD CCA, the DVD Copy Control Association. < www.dvdcca.org>. 321 Studios is being sued for decoding, breaking, that encryption without license. And there is NO WAY IN HELL the DVD CCA will EVER license CSS to ANYONE who wants to sell a product that will allow people to copy DVDs. Also just like they would not sell a license for a linux DVD player, which is why Jon Johannson had to make his own.
