The personal attacks are uncalled for, but I want to make a point:

The ideology of those in charge of the USSR does not change the fact that they were evil and oppressed, murdered, and otherwise harassed the people of the Soviet Union. Nothing takes that away and no economic or political theory can justify it.

I am trying to explain that the label that these people used, Communist, is COMPLETELY different from the actual ideology. It's like calling Iraq during Saddam's reign a democracy, just because he had elections.

Communists as in the USSR and communist according to Marx are not the same thing. The Communist party in the USSR was a morally bankrupt and destructive political organization. The theory of communism as proposed by Marx is an unworkable and undesireable economic system.

I do not support communism as a theory and I certainly don't approve of ANYTHING the Communist Party in the USSR did. You have to seperate communism the economic model and Communist, the USSR political party. One is an economic theory, the other was an oppressive, totalitarian regime that used the word Communism as a label, though totally misapplied.

That is the end of this argument from my side. If you fail to see the difference, then I can't explain it to you any better.
