TR Forum Tidings: Core 2 Duo shopping

— 12:00 AM on August 9, 2006

Intel's Core 2 Duo processors are slowly becoming available in the retail channel, with major online retailers like Newegg having just recently started stocking some of the chips. Forum regular NeRve posted a thread about the Core 2 Duo's availability less than a month ago, and it now plays host to a squad of gerbils exchanging information about where Core 2 Duos are available, what they're selling for, and who has been lucky enough to get their hands on one early. International gerbils are joining in, too. Somewhere in Europe, Proesterchen already received his Core 2 Duo E6600, and Fighterpilot says Japanese stores already stock Intel's full Core 2 Duo lineup. I haven't seen the chips stocked in France just yet, but they're probably around here somewhere. In the meantime, NerVe's thread is a good place to discuss the Core 2's availability, so feel free to register a forums account if you haven't already and join the discussion to share your sightings or ask for pointers.
