TR Forum Tidings: Core 2 Duo overclocking

— 6:12 PM on August 22, 2006

The Core 2 Duo has now been out for over three weeks; prices have had time to drop, motherboard manufacturers have had a chance to polish their BIOSes, and overclockers have been getting their hands dirty trying to squeeze every last drop of speed out of the new chips. Forum regular pete_roth's "C2D OC" thread has already grown to eight pages of our intrepid forum gerbils relating accounts of overclocking prowess, comparing their overclocks, and asking for tips on how to push their Core 2 Duo just that little bit further. Pete_roth himself was able to crank up his 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo E6300 to a cool 3GHz with the help of a Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 motherboard and some Corsair DDR2-800 RAM. If you want to relate your own overclocking experiences or ask for some pointers, feel free to sign up for a forums account and join the discussion.
