Nvidia's G80 delayed until November-December?

— 11:43 AM on September 12, 2006

Rumors previously suggested a September-October launch time frame for Nvidia's upcoming G80 graphics processor, but the GPU may not show up until November, if a report by The Inquirer is to be believed. The report says Nvidia had to make changes to G80's silicon, and that final boards should follow in two to three months. Nvidia reportedly has a tech day scheduled for early November, so The Inq reckons final parts will show up around the end of the month. Surprisingly, the site also heard from Nvidia's board partners that the G80 may require an external power supply in a fashion similar to the infamous 3dfx Voodoo 5 6000 graphics card that never made it to market.
