Phantom Game Service coming to Windows XP

— 11:58 AM on September 12, 2006

Infinium Labs let us know back in May that it was still in business and looking to license its Phantom Game Service to PC manufacturers. Three and a half months and a name change later, the company now known as Phantom Entertainment tells us the on-demand video game service is headed to Windows XP and Windows XP Media Center Edition. The service was previously intended to run on Windows XP Embedded, but Phantom Entertainment enlisted the help of software development firm VertiCity to port the client software.

According to Phantom CEO Greg Koler, the Windows XP version of the software will be ready some time in the first quarter of next year. In the meantime, the company expects to start manufacturing its Phantom Lapboard wireless keyboard and mouse combo and have it shipping this November.
