'iPhone' to be a Cingular exclusive?
Two weeks after receiving word that Apple's rumored cell phone will come out next January, Apple rumor site Think Secret has heard from its sources that the device will be exclusive to Cingular when it launches. The "iPhone," which is rumored to feature a 2.2" display, 3.0-megapixel camera, and iTunes integration, will reportedly remain exclusive to Cingular for six months after release. Once the six months are up, other providers will be able to sell the device. Apple is reportedly in talks with other providers around the world regarding similar exclusivity deals, as well. ThinkSecret speculates that, since Motorola's ROKR iTunes-enabled phone was initially exclusive to Cingular in the US and O2 in Europe when it launched last year, O2 may also get exclusivity on the "iPhone."
