Random moron defaces sites in the name of Napster

— 12:33 AM on August 17, 2000

ZDNet is running a story about a cracker by the name of Pimpshiz (No, really) who has defaced 60 web sites in the last two weeks, all in the name of Napster. Apparently this fellow's biggest targets have been NASA, Honda, and the French national library. He exploited a bug in NT4, although the article says it's an "undocumented" one.

The cracker left behind a pro-Napster message and his e-mail address so, as ZDNet says, "Web masters could learn how to undo his hackings." Then he sent out e-mails to major news outlets threatening more attacks. Brilliant. Our 14 year-old children can not only exploit NT4, but they know how to write press releases. I can't wait for the future.
