Poll: Will you upgrade to a GeForce 8800?

— 4:59 PM on November 9, 2006

Nvidia's GeForce 8800 graphics cards have finally emerged, and as we've seen, there's no question that both the GeForce 8800 GTX and the GeForce 8800 GTS blow away the competition. But is their sheer horsepower enough to make you upgrade now, or would you rather wait? Perhaps you want to see what ATI's upcoming R600 has in store, or maybe you're not too keen on the new Nvidia cards' power consumption and would rather wait for derivatives built after a process shrink. Of course, maybe you just don't want to sink 500 bucks into a graphics card. We've put together a poll asking about your upgrade plans with respect to Nvidia's newcomer, so feel free to vote and let us know what you intend to do.

In our previous poll, we asked whether you use a legal copy of Windows. The results are split almost 3:2 in favor of legit users, with 60% of voters kosher with Microsoft, 34% running a pirated copy of Windows, and a miscellaneous 6% running other operating systems like Linux or MacOS X.
