Deal of the week: Nvidia's new hotness

As you've probably noticed, Nvidia's new GeForce 8800-series graphics cards are here, and they pack a powerful punch. Considering their supremacy over the previous generation as well as their support for the DirectX 10 standard, we reckon some early adopters out there are eager to get their hands on them. Unfortunately, the GeForce 8800 GTX costs around $650 right now, which is a little much even if it does provide the best single-GPU performance out there.

That said, we've spotted one of the slightly-cut-down (but still screaming-fast) GeForce 8800 GTS cards selling at Newegg for $489.99. That price is still fairly high, but it actually seems to be the lowest out there. The card is also bundled with Ubisoft's new first-person fantasy RPG Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, which costs around $47 on its own. If you're feeling the early adopter's itch, this card may very well be your best bet right now.
