Electronic Arts has announced that it has set a release time frame for the upcoming first-person PC action shooter, Hellgate: London. The game will come out this summer, more than two years after it was originally unveiled by its developers. The brainchild of ex-Blizzard staffers, including Diablo series creator Erich Schaefer, Hellgate: London will combine first-person shooter and RPG elements in a post-apocalyptic future where the city of London has been invaded by demons from—you guessed it—hell itself. More information about the game, including screenshots, videos, and tidbits about its weapons, character classes, and storyline, is available on the official site.
Incidentally, Hellgate: London will be one of the first titles to use Havok's Havok FX physics engine, which will rely on on Pixel Shader 3.0-compliant graphics processors for hardware physics acceleration.
