OK, I'm a bit late on this, but I just wanted to make sure you don't miss this post at Ace's about DDR chipsets and motherboards coming in October. If you were going to upgrade, wait. If you just upgraded, uhm... hahahaha. Sorry.
Looks like the Athlon will get a DDR chipset first, AMD's 760. ALi and VIA will follow, with VIA letting its PIII chipset outta the bag first, then the Athlon one. I expect the Athlon, with its superior bus design, will benefit more from DDR memory than will the PIII.
