Despite its paltry 4.5% share of the PC graphics market, SiS is cooking up some new integrated graphics chipsets with a beefier graphics core. According to HKEPC, the company's roadmap includes new SiS 673, SiS 673FX, and SiS 772 chipsets, which will all feature new Mirage 4 integrated graphics with support for DirectX 10 as well as H.264, Windows Media Video 9, and MPEG-2 video decoding.

The site says the SiS 673—an Intel chipset—will launch in the third quarter with support for front-side bus speeds up to 1066MHz, DDR3 memory running at up to 1066MHz, and DDR2 RAM clocked at up to 800MHz. The SiS 673FX will sport a 1333MHz front-side bus and support DDR3-1333 memory, but HKEPC doesn't quote a time frame for its release. As for the SiS 772, that particular chipset will reportedly boast support for AMD's upcoming quad-core processors with HyperTransport 3.0.
