Rumored GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB is already on sale

— 9:17 AM on February 8, 2007

A number of rumors have cropped up over the past few weeks about a so-called GeForce 8800 GTS with 320MB of memory instead of the 640MB found in the current card. Nvidia has yet to announce any such product, but apparently the rumored card is already up for sale at some locations. One of those locations is CompUSA, where a GeForce 8800 GTS 320MB is listed for $349.99 with an estimated release date of Saturday, February 17. The card in question is a BFG Tech product, and CompUSA says it has a core clock speed of 550MHz and a memory speed of 800MHz. Those clocks are slightly higher than those of the existing GeForce 8800 GTS, which runs at 500MHz with 800MHz memory. However, CompUSA doesn't list other specifications like the number of shader processors the card has or its memory bus width.
