Although recent John Peddie figures say Nvidia lost some market share in the fourth calendar quarter of 2006, the company has posted record revenue for its fourth fiscal quarter ending January 28, 2007. Nvidia says it enjoyed revenue of $878.9 million and net income of $163.5 million, compared to $820.6 million in revenue and $106.5 million in profit for the previous quarter. Thanks to a series of record quarters last year, the company's 2007 fiscal year was its most profitable yet: Nvidia amassed revenue of $3.07 billion and net income of $448.8 million over the year, compared to a respective $2.38 billion and $301.2 million for the 2006 fiscal year ended January 29, 2006.

Looking ahead at the company's 2008 fiscal year (January 2007 to January 2008), Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang says his company will "[drive] deeper into the Intel segment with [Nvidia-] branded motherboard GPUs," release its first application processor for handheld devices, and make headway in the general-purpose GPU arena.
