Virtual PC 2007 released for free

— 11:50 AM on February 20, 2007

Microsoft has released the latest version of its virtualization software suite, Virtual PC 2007. The new software suite brings major enhancements over the previous revision, including support for Windows Vista and hardware virtualization features in the latest processors from AMD and Intel. Virtual PC 2007 is available as a free download in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors from this page on Microsoft's site. Supported host operating systems only include Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Tablet PC, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, and Windows Vista Ultimate. However, the software still seems to run on other versions of Windows such as Windows Vista Home Premium, although in those cases the software does warn that it's not running on a supported OS.
