The advent of Windows Vista has pushed an increasing number of memory manufacturers to release 4GB memory kits, and now Kingston has introduced a 4GB kit that offers the lower latencies common with 2GB kits. The company's new 4GB DDR2-800 HyperX memory kit (part number KHX6400D2LLK2/4G) is rated for operation at 800MHz with timings of 4-4-4-12. Kingston is offering not just 4GB kits and individual 2GB modules with those specifications, but also 2GB and 1GB kits as well as 1GB and 512MB modules. The 4GB kit costs $500, the 2GB kit is launching at $308, and the 1GB kit is $160. Kingston offers individual 2GB, 1GB, and 512MB modules with the same specs for exactly half those prices, or $250, $154, and $80, respectively.
