Asus notebooks head to Best Buy

Best Buy and Asus have inked a distribution deal that will see the retailer sell some of Asus' notebook offerings in its 150+ U.S. retail stores. Asus says the first of its notebooks to hit Best Buy stores will be its G1 gaming laptop. According to the specifications on Asus' website, the G1 sports a 15.4" display with a resolution of up to 1680x1050, a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an Nvidia GeForce Go 7700 graphics processor with 512MB of memory, 2GB of DDR2-667 RAM, a 160GB 5400RPM hard drive, and a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera. The system weighs in at 6.83lbs (3.1kg) and has an auxiliary OLED display that can show instant messages, system status, and alerts. Best Buy is already listing the G1 on its website for $1,799.
