Deal of the week: Cheap DDR2 RAM

— 4:38 PM on March 2, 2007

DDR2 memory has been getting cheaper and cheaper these past few weeks, and according to a Taiwanese memory maker recently interviewed by DigiTimes, memory prices are about as low as they're going to be for the rest of this year. To celebrate this occasion, we've dug a couple of sweet memory deals out of our price search engine for our weekly deal post.

The first is this 2GB Corsair DDR2-667 kit, which can be had at Mwave for a scant $149. Considering the cheapest name-brand 2GB DDR2-667 kit we could find for our last system guide roughly a month ago cost $178.99, and the cheapest one before that was over $200, that $149 price tag looks very enticing indeed. For users who'd like their RAM to pack a little more punch, we also found this 2GB OCZ DDR2-800 kit at Newegg. It costs just $175.99, which is pretty much the cheapest we can find for that type of memory. To top it off, Newegg even offers a $20 mail-in rebate deal that can squeeze its price down to $155.99.
