Voodoo PC's Rahul Sood talks Vista and gaming

— 2:46 PM on March 5, 2007

Rahul Sood, Voodoo PC co-founder and HP Global Gaming Business CTO, has written a column over at The Inquirer regarding the future of gaming on Windows Vista. Sood's column was prompted by a trip to Microsoft's Redmond, Washington headquarters, where he met with the software giant's gaming group. He says Microsoft's recently-announced Games for Windows initiative looks promising, since it's more than just a marketing campaign—Microsoft will push for easier installation, Xbox controller support, a cross-platform communication system for PCs and consoles, and many more "awesome features" Sood says he is unable to discuss until Microsoft officially unveils them. Nevertheless, he concludes that Microsoft's success in the operating system space will be "driven on the back of [DirectX 10] and the gaming team."
