Nvidia to delay its G84, G86 graphics chips?
If a report by The Inquirer is to be believed, Nvidia's upcoming G84 and G86 graphics processors have slipped behind schedule. The Inq says both chips are buggy in their present state and will require a re-spin, which will "most likely" make their rumored mid-April appearance impossible. A file in Nvidia's latest drivers suggests that the G84 will appear in GeForce 8600 GTS and 8600 GT graphics cards, while the G84 will materialize in GeForce 8500 GT, 8400 GS, and 8300 GS models. We heard earlier this month that Nvidia would introduce the GeForce 8600 GTS, 8600 GT, and 8500 GT on April 17. However, The Inq now says the launch will need to be either postponed or turned into a "soft launch," with availability to follow later.
