Friday night topic: Silly childhood beliefs

— 7:49 PM on April 20, 2007

So this website is kind of a fun concept. It asks: what mistaken impressions about the way the world works did you carry around with you as a child?

I don't recall any really good ones about myself, but I remember my little brother being absolutely horrified of mannequins, which he called "hoo-haws." He even had a noise he thought they made that sounded like their name. He slept on the floor in my room at night for fear of them for . . . must have been over a year.

What strange things did you believe about the world as a child? Discuss.

Oh, and please don't troll with posts about religion or politics. Thanks.
