iBXT Labs has a nicely done review of the new Intel 820 chipset online. The argument for Rambus memory looks compelling in some cases, but then there's this little consideration:

As for the most vitally urgent matter - the price, we can only say that RIMM-modules will be pretty expensive. According to the preliminary estimates, the price of a 128MB module may drop only down to $650-700 in the near future.
Yikes. Gimme some plain 'ol PC100 SDRAM and an Althon, thanks.
