Spore delayed until 2008

The launch of Will Wright's much-anticipated life simulator, Spore, has been pushed back once again. The game was previously expected out some time this year, but now seems to be off the 2007 calendar altogether. As Shacknews reports, Electronic Arts stated in an analyst conference call that Spore might come out at the end of EA's fiscal year ending on March 31, 2008, but it was likelier the game would launch in the following quarter. That puts the title's release basically a whole year away, but EA CFO nonetheless says, "We continue to have enormous confidence in Spore . . . I've had the chance to review the title three times in my short return to EA, and it looks fantastic." Spore was first announced at the Game Developers Conference in March 2005.
