Mobile Core 2 prices to go down in September

— 9:34 AM on May 15, 2007

We heard yesterday that Intel planned to make significant pricing adjustments to its desktop Core 2 processor lineup in July. Now, the guys at VR-Zone have gotten their hands on a price list that says Intel intends to slash mobile Core 2 prices a couple of months later.

According to the price list, the new Core 2 Duo T7700, which runs at 2.4GHz and has an 800MHz front-side bus, will see its price drop from $530 to $361. Intel will also reportedly discontinue the 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo T7100 and 2GHz Core 2 Duo T7300, which are priced at a respective $209 and $241, and introduce a new 2GHz T7250 model at $209. On the high end, a rumored 2.6GHz mobile Core 2 Extreme X7800 that's said to be coming in July with an $851 price tag will be replaced by an X7900 model with a 2.8GHz clock speed.
