Pricing for 45nm Xeons leaks out

— 11:33 AM on July 18, 2007

In other Penryn-related news, the guys at DailyTech have snagged a price list for Intel's upcoming 45nm Xeon processors. We saw a list of the upcoming chips and their specifications on Monday, and DailyTech's latest find now sticks some release time frames and price tags on those models.

If DailyTech's information is to be believed, 45nm quad-core Xeons will start rolling out in the fourth quarter of this year. The top-of-the-line 3.16GHz model will apparently be priced at $1,172, or roughly a couple hundred bucks north of the recommended $999 price tag for the new 3GHz Core 2 Extreme QX6850. The 3GHz 45nm Xeon will be priced at $851, and other models will go down from there. They'll reach as low as $209 for the Xeon E5405, which is expected to run somewhere between 2GHz and 2.33GHz. On the dual-core front, the 3.33GHz 45nm dual-core Xeon will reportedly sell for around $851, although that model isn't expected to arrive until the first quarter of 2008.
