Deal of the week: Wide-screen LCDs

— 12:40 PM on August 17, 2007

For our deal post this week, we've selected a long-time favorite among the gerbils in our forums: Westinghouse's 37" 1080p LCD HD display. eCost is offering this display for just $585 until early Sunday morning, and the site claims to only have a handful left. Considering the display has a full 1920x1080 resolution with a 1000:1 contrast rating, DVI and VGA inputs—allowing it to be used as a PC monitor—and removable 20W speakers, $585 is a tantalizing price indeed.

For users who are on a tighter budget, Dell's SE198WFP 19" wide-screen LCD monitor is also an interesting deal. It sports a 19" panel size with a 1440x900 resolution, 1000:1 rated contrast, and a response time rating of 5ms, but Dell offers it for a very affordable $199.
