For users who ogle the iPhone but feel uneasy about its price tag, Apple has started to offer refurbished versions of the device at a discount. As DailyTech reports, "Apple Certified Refurbished" iPhones can now be snagged off the Apple Store for $100 less than the retail price of a brand-new model. The refurbished 4GB model is therefore "only" $399, and the 8GB refurb is priced at $499.
Refurb iPhones come with a one-year warranty, and Apple offers an AppleCare Protection plan for them for an extra 69 bucks. Apple says both models ship within one to three business days, and the company charges nothing for shipping.
