To take a break from last week's flurry of memory deals, we looked into power supplies this week, and we've spotted an interesting bargain. Corsair's 450W VX-series power supply is on sale for $75 at Mwave, and if mail-in rebates are your thing, the online retailer is running a $10 mail-in deal on the unit until October 31.
450W may not sound like much, but this is a beefy PSU with a single +12V rail capable of delivering a maximum 396W of power. It's rated for efficiency as high as 85%, and it features active power correction, cooling via a single, quiet 120mm fan, and five-year warranty coverage. This model's big brother, the HX620W, performed well enough to earn an Editor's Choice award in our PSU roundup. At $75 (or $65 for those who go for the rebate), the VX450W looks like a great choice for those building new PCs or upgrading their existing ones to play Crysis.
If you're still interested in memory, we've also noticed that the 2GB kit of Wintec Amp DDR2-800 memory we recommended in our last deal post has gone down from $54.99 to $52.99. Again, the kit has lifetime warranty coverage, and Wintec offers U.S.-based support should things go south.
