We pointed to pictures of Nvidia's upcoming GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB graphics card earlier today, and now the folks at DigiTimes have pinned a release date on the card. They say Nvidia initially planned to roll out the GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB last week, on November 19, but that the card's release has been postponed until December 11.
The new 8800 GTS is believed to be based on the same G92 graphics processor as the GeForce 8800 GT, so considering how scarce the 8800 GT is, the rumored delay isn't too surprising. Currently, all GeForce 8800 GT models listed on Newegg are out of stock, and our price search engine only lists one available model priced at a whopping $375—well above Nvidia's official suggested price range of $199-249.
According to DigiTimes, the 8800 GTS 512MB will be priced in the $299-349 range when it rolls out next month.
