No, this isn't April 1st, although we did double-check ourselves to make sure. As Shacknews reports, 3D Realms CEO George Broussard has posted in his firm's official forums to announce that a teaser trailer for Duke Nukem Forever will be released tomorrow at noon central time. In his forum post, Broussard explains:
Last Saturday we had our annual company Christmas party. It was a lot of fun as usual but it featured one special surprise. It turns out that several people had been secretly working late nights and into the wee hours of the morning preparing a special video for those at the party. They created a short teaser for Duke Nukem Forever.
After seeing the teaser we thought it was something we should share with all of you and while it's just a teaser, rest assured more is coming.
Broussard also thanks fans for their "continued patience"—something they've likely turned into an art form after waiting for the game for the past ten and a half years.
The posting includes a single teaser screenshot, which appears to show an in-game model of Duke Nukem himself. The 3DRealms forum servers are too overloaded to display the image at the moment, but luckily, the folks at Shacknews have mirrored it here.
