Nearly two months have passed since the release of the $399.99 Eee PC 4G in the United States, but Asustek is still introducing new models of its star low-cost laptop. Today, we noticed that Newegg has started stocking three new Eee PC models, which are all priced at $299.99 and dubbed with the "2G Surf" suffix.
The three models have the same guts—an Intel processor, 7" 800x480 display, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, a 2GB solid-state drive, 802.11g Wi-Fi, and a 2.8-hour battery—and the same Linux-based operating system, but they're available in three different colors, in a fashion similar to Apple's original iBook series. There's the "Sky Blue" model, the "Blush Pink" model, and for folks who want a more grown-up-looking notebook, the "Galaxy Black" model. The first two are white with different-colored display covers, while the "Galaxy Black" flavor is entirely clad in black.
The Eee PC lineup also grew earlier this month with the introduction of the $499.99 Eee PC 8G, which offers an 8GB solid-state drive, 1GB of RAM, and a 3.5 hours of battery life. That model is only available in Asustek's standard "Pearl White" hue, though.
