Only 30 fps? Bah!

— 9:38 AM on October 31, 2000

sCary has a link up to this paper on graphics frame rates and what your eye can actually see. This debate has been going on forever it seems, but truth be known eyes don't care if you have 200fps.

Contrary to the belief that we cannot distinguish anything over 30 fps, we can actually see and recognize speeds up to 70+ fps.
Of course we all know that minimum framerates matter more for gaming than averages right? We just won't get into what kind of average (or maximum for that matter) my rocking P2 266/Voodoo2 combo gets.
