Technology as religion

— 9:14 PM on November 20, 2000

CNet has an interesting story up likening Silicon Valley to the Mecca of our new technological religion. Not my area of expertise (want to weigh in on this one, Damage?), but something a little different to read on your Monday evening.

The anthropologists likened computer programmers and engineers to "techno-missionaries," people who "seek a grander meaning to their jobs" and use an array of cellular phones and other gadgets to live on the cutting edge of "a progressive movement."
