The endgame for Rambus begins

— 10:54 PM on December 31, 2000

The Register is reporting that the ITC has ended its investigation of Hyundai pursuant to a Rambus complaint alleging that "Hyundai had violated US law by importing alleged patent-busting memory into the country." Yet a quick search on Price Watch yields the following results:

128MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM - $179
128MB PC800 RDRAM - $163
128MB PC133 SDRAM - $52

Hmm...a stick of 128MB PC800 Rambus is cheaper than PC2100 DDR memory!? Just one year ago, RDRAM prices were stratospheric. Anyone care to share their New Year's resolution for Rambus?
