PHP virus surfaces

— 12:14 AM on January 8, 2001

The Register is reporting that the first PHP-based virus has been identified by an anti-virus security firm called Command Central. The virus is unable to spread out from an infected system and can only spread to a system when an infected script is executed. While the virus itself isn't all that troubling, the fact that yet another environment has been infiltrated continues a trend of new ground being broken that I don't think anyone is comfortable with.
