As fast as AMD's new Radeon HD 5870 is, it won't be the flagship card in the 5800 series for long. That honor will fall to Hemlock, a card with two of the same Cypress GPUs running in tandem. AMD will probably christen that product the Radeon HD 5870 X2.
One member of the XtremeSystems forums has nabbed photos of this card. Apparently, AMD will put both graphics processors on a single board and use a cooler similar to what's found on the 5850. The Hemlock card looks a bit longer, though, judging from how far it extends past its PCI Express x16 connector.
The same poster also claims to have found a European e-tailer offering the card for pre-order at €677. That works out to almost $1,000, but swapping the currency symbol probably gives a better idea of possible U.S. pricing. For the record, the Radeon HD 5870 has a suggested retail price of $379.
