Performance testing is a bench

Ga'ash, an apparently Klingon tech writer at Voodoo Extreme, has put together a little article on the difficulties of benchmarking 3D performance. He's raised some interesting points, although I tend to think dynamic level of detail adjustments made on-the-fly in the newest 3D engines may be a bigger benchmarking problem than the issues he's raised. Comments?
