Earlier today, we told you about the new version of HP's metallic Envy 15 laptop, which now packs Mobility Radeon HD 5800-series graphics and a Core i5 processor for $1,300. Well, as it turns out, you should be able to grab the system for only $1,100. Here's how.
HP is current running a coupon deal that shaves $300 off laptops worth over $1,399. All you have to do is head through to HP's online shop, click "Customize & Buy" for the base $1,299.99 Envy 15 config, then scroll over to the display options and go for the priciest one—the 15.6" Ultra Brightview display with a 1920x1080 resolution. That'll jack up the price to $1,399.99, at which point you can enter the coupon code "NBTW34871" on the checkout screen and (hopefully) watch it tumble to $1,099.99 with free shipping. Neat, huh?
As we noted earlier, this laptop has a sleek-looking aluminum-magnesium alloy chassis, and the base config includes a 2.4GHz Core i5-520 processor, Mobility Radeon HD 5830 1GB graphics, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 320GB 7,200-RPM hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and a six-cell lithium-ion-polymer battery. HP says this puppy weighs 5.17 lbs and has a thickness of 1.04", so while it's bigger than your average ultraportable, it shouldn't be hard to carry around.
Just don't mull this one over for too long. According to GotApex, the coupon code will expire either on January 16 or after 1,800 uses.
