We'll have to wait a few more months for MegaTextured post-apocalyptic action. As Shacknews reports, id Software sister company and publisher Bethesda has revealed that Rage won't be out this year. The firm quotes a loose 2011 release window, instead.
Shacknews reports the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions of Rage should all be out in that time frame. (This time, id appears to be handling the console versions itself.) The Shack also quotes a Bethesda fact sheet that teases players with word of "exclusive co-op modes" and "all-out multiplayer mayhem." id's next opus is starting to sound more and more like Gearbox's Borderlands, which has a similar post-apocalyptic setting and a co-op mode. No MegaTexture, though.
To tide you over until 2011, id and Bethesda have released a batch of new screenshots, which you'll find here in Shacknews' image gallery. The images show some indoor combat, a female character, and an outdoor scene.
