Samsung's 2TB Spinpoint F3EG drive normally sells for $149.99, but until May 10, Newegg is letting customers shave $30 off the regular price by entering the promo code "EMCYSYR79" (without the quotes) on the checkout page. And that's pretty much it. Six cents per gigabyte without filling out rebate forms and waiting weeks or months for a rebate check.
Like the $69.99 WD Caviar Green we found last month (which, by the way, is still available for that price with the promo code "MOM1235"), the Samsung Spinpoint F3EG has a 5,400-RPM spindle speed. That means it's probably a fine mass-storage drive—and with 78% of Newegg reviewers giving the Spinpoint a five-star rating, it likely is—but you might want to look for something a little quicker to store your operating system and applications.
