Brookdale DDR in October?

— 5:57 AM on February 11, 2001

Just about a week ago, there was some speculation that Intel's Brookdale chipset would be arriving earlier than originally anticipated. Septor is reporting that Intel is planning to release the Brookdale DDR chipset in October of this year. In addition, they are reporting that the SDRAM (single data rate) version of Brookdale will be cancelled. There is no official word from Intel but because they will be coming out with server chipsets that support DDR SDRAM, an accelerated release is not out of the question. It is believed that Intel will release Northwood (0.13 micron Pentium 4) and the Tehama-E chipset (supporting RDRAM) at the same time as Brookdale.
