With Duke Nukem Forever now in the hands of a capable, sanely run game studio, fans are facing the very real possibility of getting to play DNF in the not-too-distant future. As Shacknews reports, Gearbox is offering to make that future slightly less distant—but only if you purchase the Borderlands game-of-the-year edition.
Buyers of Borderlands GOTY will be allowed into the "Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club," which will reportedly involve first dibs on the DNF demo "in addition to some exclusive in-game items." The Shack brings up a "wealth of goodies" in store for buyers, too, but details are apparently thin at this time.
In any case, the Borderlands GOTY edition is scheduled to arrive on October 12. It'll set you back $49.99 on the PC and an extra sawbuck for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. In addition to the aforementioned Duke fan service, the repackaged game will come with all four of the downloadable add-ons released thus far.
