AnandTech reviews Kyro II

AT's review. Here's the blurb:

While talk surrounding NVIDIA's recently announced GeForce3 has occupied the graphics sector for the past few weeks, Hercules and STMicro have teamed up to add an interesting short term alternative to the GeForce3 and the current crop of NVIDIA cards: the Kyro II based Hercules 3D Prophet 4500.

The Kyro II is in no way a replacement for the GeForce3, simply because its featureset is dated compared to what NVIDIA was able to pack into the GeForce3. That doesn't take away from the fact that, in our tests, the Kyro II which can be found on the $149 Hercules 3D Prophet II, was actually faster than the GeForce2 GTS, GeForce2 Pro and even in some cases the GeForce2 Ultra. Take a look at our review here to find out more.

The rest is here.
