In less than a month, Mass Effect 3 is due to hit the PC. If you can't wait that long for a taste of Shepard's next adventure, Rock, Paper, Shotgun has stumbled upon a video showing what appears to be the first 40 minutes of the game. Spoiler alert, anyone?
Not having followed the franchise, there isn't much I can say about the content of the video. I wouldn't want to give anything away, either. The footage appears to be from the Xbox 360 version of the game, and the visuals are impressive considering the hardware handicap. The game should look even better at higher resolutions on the PC, although it's unclear whether there will be any other graphical upgrades over the console versions.
Mass Effect has never really been my kind of game, but after having the new footage playing in the background this morning, I can see why the franchise has so many rabid fans. I've found myself sucked into watching the action several times while writing this post.
