Deal of the week: Oldies but goodies and new SSDs

— 5:02 PM on February 17, 2012

Let's start our weekly deal post with a game sale—because there's no better way to kick off a long weekend than to get caught up on your PC gaming. Amazon has several oldies but goodies available, in downloadable form, at bargain-basement prices. You can grab...

  • Borderlands for $6.99.
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for $4.99
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for $4.99.
  • Mass Effect for $4.99.
  • ...and Mass Effect 2 also for $4.99.

If you're more interested in hardware upgrades, Amazon has an 8GB kit of DDR3-1333 SO-DIMMs from Crucial on sale for $34.99 shipped—definitely a nice pick-me-up for any recent notebook.

Also, the latest product to earn our Editor's Choice award, Samsung's 830 Series 256GB SSD, is available at Newegg for $334.99 shipped if you enter the coupon code "EMCNHJC34" on the checkout page. Keep in mind this drive comes bundled with a free copy of Batman: Arkham City, too, which only makes the deal sweeter. (Thanks to LogicBuy for the heads up there.)

Our Canadian friends may not get to sleep in on Monday, but they can partake in NCIX's Fantastic February Savings Event, which is running until the 22nd. Bargains include Kingston's SSDNow V200 128GB solid-state drive, which is available for a scant $119.98 (albeit in limited quantities, from what I understand).
