Those two FX-series processors AMD announced late last month are now available. Newegg apparently put up listings at some point in the past few days, and both offerings are in stock.
The FX-4170 sells for $139.99 with free shipping, a $30 premium over the slower FX-4100. The FX-6200 costs $169.99, also with shipping on the house, which makes it $20 more expensive than the FX-6100 (or $30 more, if you count the promo code Newegg ties to that CPU).
As we noted last month, the FX-4170 and FX-6200 aren't just a little bit faster than their predecessors. You're looking at 500-600MHz higher base clock speeds and 200-300MHz greater Turbo speeds, depending on the model. At the same time, the FX-4170 and FX-6200 have 125W thermal envelopes, while the older FX-4100 and FX-6100 have 95W TDPs. Keep that in mind when you're shopping for your next upgrade. (Thanks to Fudzilla for the tip.)
